[Troop1020] Report from Troop Committee Meeting - Thursday, July 10

The following items were approved and/or discussed at the Troop 1020 Committee meeting July 10.
New application form for financial assistance for Troop 1020 campouts.
This is to be posted, along with new financial assistance policy approved at June's meeting, on the web site.
Merit Badge College to be held August 4 & 5 and August 11 & 12. The intent for MB College this year is to complete already started (partial) MBs.
SPL requested the following MBs to be part of the program: Citizenship in the Nation, Personal Fitness, Auto Mechanics
The following are also possible classes: Cooking, Emergency Prep, Personal Management
We need Merit Badge counselors (a.k.a. parents) to volunteer for all the above. Contact Jim Baldwin at jbaldwin3 at verizon.net to volunteer!
The following were announced by our Senior Patrol Leader, Braiden King, and Scoutmaster, Mr. Cooley:
August campout is planned for August 29 - Sept 1 (Friday to Monday)
Camp Sid Richardson (near Mineral Wells)
Climbing and canoeing
Merit Badges included in activities: Climbing, Canoeing, Camping
More details as we firm up the plans.
Troop elections will be August 25
Next Court of Honor is scheduled for August 18.
Deadline for advancement completion is August 4 (info must be to Advancement Chair, Donna Baldwin)
Exception is completion of a Merit Badge as part of MB College in which case deadline is Tuesday, August 12.
Next PLC is Saturday morning August 2, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
SM and SPL to meet at 9:00 AM to review PLC agenda and annual planning conference.
Annual Troop planning conference is Saturday, August 9, 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM This will involve the following:
All members of the PLC
Mr. Cooley
Mr. Wells
Mr. Amos
Mr. Brooks
Parents to help with logistics (a.k.a. facilities and food)
We would love an alternative site to host this event. Contact our Scoutmaster if you want to volunteer (maybe at someone's home with a pool?)
